Prof. Stefan Seewald is a gastroenterologist and a partner of the Center for Gastroenterology Hirslanden Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland. Before moving to Zurich, Prof. Seewald honed his skill in therapeutic endoscopy at the famous Department of Interdisciplinary Endoscopy of the University Hospital Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE) under the renowned Prof. Nib Soehendra. He further pursued his passion for endoscopy under the guidance of Prof. Takuji Gotoda and under renowned surgeon and endoscopist Prof. Haruhiro Inoue.
His areas of expertise include advanced resection early esophageal, gastric, duodenal and colonic malignancy with EMR and ESD as well as third space intervention with POEM. He also has a lifelong commitment to pancreatico-biliary disease with ERCP and EUS interventions.
Prof. Seewald is a member of the ASGE, ESGE, German society of endoscopy and imaging technologies and Swiss Society of Gastroenterology. He is a fellow of JGES and ASGE. He is on the editorial board of numerous international peer reviewed publication including the GIE and VJGIEN. He is a member of the advisory board of the German Society of Endoscopy and Imaging Technologies and faculty of the European training program for radiofrequency ablation.
Prof. Seewald is the founder and the driving force behind EndoSwiss, the first live endoscopy meeting in Switzerland, which takes place every 2 years.
