Armando Dell’Anna graduated in Medicine with highest honors and specialized in General Surgery and Digestive System Surgery at the University of Rome and Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy at the University of Foggia. He also trained in Paris at Hôpital Paul Brousse in Hepato-biliary Surgery Department directed by Prof. H. Bismuth. He has been a speaker at about 100 national and international congresses. He was always interested in diagnostic and therapeutic digestive and bilio-pancreatic endoscopy: diagnosis and management of precancerous lesions of the upper and lower GI tract, palliation of GI tract and pancreatico-biliary neoplasms and treatment of endoscopic urgencies. He performed nearly 70’000 operative and diagnostic endoscopic procedures, as follows: 35’500 EGDs, 30’000 colonoscopies and 4’500 endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatographies.
