Dr George Webster is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at University College London (UCLH) and Royal Free London Hospitals and clinical lead in hepatopancreaticobiliary medicine at UCLH. He qualified from the Royal Free in 1991 and undertook his specialist training in gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy in London (Royal Free, Barts and The London, and UCLH), and Sydney.

Dr Webster sees patients with all aspects of liver, biliary, pancreatic and general gastroenterological conditions. He has an international reputation in advanced endoscopy, and was the chair of endoscopy and vice-president (endoscopy) for the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) (2017-19) and is on the Council of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE).

He is actively involved in teaching nationally and internationally, including directing the annual London Live Endoscopy, the BSG Endoscopy Live 2017, 2019, and the inaugural UK IgG4-related disease symposium 2019. He is actively involved in research and has published more than 100 peer-review papers, and book chapters including in the Oxford Textbook of Medicine.
