Dr Gavin Johnson is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at University College London Hospitals (UCLH).
Dr Johnson’s expertise is in endoscopy, including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS); and pancreaticobiary medicine. He is also an expert in Medical Education. He organises and is faculty on regular Gastroenterology courses, including ERCP courses in the UK and Europe.
Dr Johnson is a Senior Lecturer at UCL Medical School in Medical Education, where he is the lead for Year 4 and Director of Undergraduate Education at UCL Hospitals. Dr Johnson sits on the QA for Training committee for the UK Joint Advisory Group of Endoscopy.
Dr Gavin Johnson graduated with merit from Newcastle University in 1998, and went on to undertake postgraduate training in the North East, Sydney, and in London. During his training Dr Johnson spent some time as an Education Fellow at the Royal College of Physicians, running nationwide projects that culminated in a Diploma, Masters and MD in Medical Education. He has published numerous peer reviewed papers and book chapters in Gastroenterology and Medical Education.
