Dong Wang, graduated from the Second Military Medical University with a Ph.D. in 2010, he was a visiting scholar at Davis Medical Center in California, USA. From 2010 to 2020 he was the deputy director of Digestive Endoscopy Center of Changhai Hospital affiliated to the Second Military Medical University. Since 2020 he began to work in Digestive Endoscopy Center of Ruijin Hospital.
He is currently deputy director of NOTES group of Digestive Endoscopy Society of Chinese Medical Association, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of Committee for Endoscopic Infection Control and Management, Chinese Medical Doctor Association. He is also Vice Chairman of Digestive Endoscopy Professional Committee, Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.
He has rich experience in the therapeutic gastroscopy, therapeutic colonoscopy, ultrasonic gastroscopy (FNA, CPN), ERCP, PTCD and percutaneous gastrostomy (PEG). He completed the first clinical application of NOTES in China, and officially published the article. He serves as a member of China NOTES CLUB Expert Collaboration Group. After approved by the Ethics Committee, the clinical application of NOTES has been completed in 10 cases, including peritoneal biopsy, omentum biopsy, liver biopsy and fenestration of liver cyst, all of which were successful without complications. Among them, NOTES fenestration of hepatic cyst was first reported internationally.
In 2008 and 2011, he was invited to participate in American Digestive Disease Weeks (DDW) to give speeches at the conference. Besides, he also published articles in Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Endoscopy etc.
